The 4th International Sheng Yen Education Foundation Conference: In honoring the late Master Sheng Yen’s life work in Buddhist studies and socially engaged Buddhism, the Sheng Yen Education Foundation is hosting The 4th International Sheng Yen Education Foundation Conference. The conference theme is: “An Appraisal of Master Sheng Yen and Contemporary Chinese Buddhism, Past and Future.” Part One of the conference, June 1-2, consists of papers presented by the DDM monastic Sangha, primarily in Chinese, with simultaneous English translation. Part Two of the Conference, June 3-4, is geared toward the academic community, where papers will be presented by scholars of Buddhism and related fields. Most of the papers will be in English. Both parts of the conference are open to the general public. This email is a call for paper announcement for Part Two or the academic part of the conference. Travel expenses to Taiwan and room and board for presenters and respondents will be provided by the Sheng Yen Education Foundation.
